March 21, 2025 – Baker Hughes, a leading global energy technology company, has been awarded a substantial multi-year contract by Petrobras to supply advanced completions technology for deepwater oil fields offshore Brazil. This agreement aims to enhance production efficiency and well performance in some of the region’s most technically challenging environments.
Under the new contract, Baker Hughes will provide Petrobras with a fully integrated suite of well completions solutions, including flow control, monitoring, and safety systems designed for deepwater applications. These solutions will play a crucial role in maximizing oil recovery while maintaining operational safety in harsh offshore conditions.
Among the key technologies included in this project are:
SureCONTROL Premium Interval Control Valve (ICV): A high-reliability flow control solution enabling real-time remote adjustments across multiple well zones.
SureSENS QPT ELITE Downhole Gauges & B-Annulus Monitoring System: Advanced sensors for real-time monitoring of well conditions, improving operational decision-making.
SureTREAT Chemical Injection & Sure-Set Flow Control System: Designed to optimize well flow and chemical management, enhancing production efficiency.
Orbit Premium Barrier Valves, Gas Lift Systems, and DeepShield Subsurface Safety Valves: Critical components that improve well integrity and extend production lifespan.
Baker Hughes’ solutions have been developed to withstand the extreme pressure and corrosive conditions found in deepwater offshore fields. The contract reinforces Petrobras’ commitment to utilizing cutting-edge technology to optimize hydrocarbon production.
